Obsidian Giant

Image
Throughout the Kinslayer Wars, the gray elf wizards performed all manner of experiments to increase the grey elves armies without any elves having to give up either their lives or their immortality . The early centuries of the Wars saw many aberrations summoned and monstrosities created and released upon the land.  While the hobgoblins , their greatest success, came in the late stages of the Kinslayer Wars, the early centuries of the Wars saw many failures. The obsidian giants were an ingenious idea towards the beginning of the Kinslayer Wars. A sort of power armor that an elf could don and fight in, and not give up their immortality. Initially a success, the obsidian giants soon proved to be a failure. They helped win a key early battle, but the horrible truth of their fate caused much sorrow. I converted the obsidian giants from the wonderful Teratic Tome . I started with the stone giant stats as a framework and tweaked from there. Obsidian Giant Huge humanoid (elf...

Allip

Image
As I promised awhile ago , here's my conversion of the allip to 5e rules.  I based it mostly on the d20 SRD and the Pathfinder SRD, but changed the Wisdom drain abilities to conditions.  The touch of insanity attack I based off of the harried condition created by Brandes Stoddard over at Harbringer of Doom . Allip Medium undead, neutral evil Armor Class 14 Hit Points 26 (4d8+8) Speed 0 feet, Fly 30 feet STR DEX CON INT WIS CHA 10 (+0) 12 (+1) 14 (+2) 11 (+0) 11 (+0) 18 (+4) Damage Resistances acid, fire, lightning, thunder; bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing from nonmagical weapons Damage Immunities cold, necrotic, poison Condition Immunities charmed, exhaustion, frightened, grappled, paralyzed, petrified, poisoned, prone, restrained Senses Darkvision 60 feet, passive Perception 10 Languages none Challenge 3 (700 XP) Babble.   An allip constantly mutters and whines to itself, creating a h...

Urisk, Lubin

The last creature I'm going to convert from Dragon Magazine #94's Creature Catalog II is the urisk, and a variation, the lubin.  Originally by Roger Moore, I could find no other versions. by Roger Raupp Urisk Small fey, neutral Armor Class 13 Hit Points 10 (3d6) Speed 35 feet STR DEX CON INT WIS CHA 9 (-1) 16 (+3) 11 (+0) 16 (+3) 10 (+0) 14 (+2) Skills Perception +2, Stealth +6 Senses passive Perception 12 Languages Common, Sylvan Challenge ⅛ (100 XP) Pass without Trace.  Urisk do not leave footprints or a scent trail while moving. Tracking the urisk is impossible by nonmagical means. Animal Friendship (Recharge 5-6).  The ursik can convince a beast that it means it no harm. Choose a beast that you can see within range.  It must see and hear you. If the beast’s Intelligence is 4 or higher, the spell fails. Otherwise, the beast must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed by you for th...

Lillend

Image
Back to Dragon Magazine #94's Creature Catalog II, and the Lillend, originally by Stephen Inniss. http://myrmirada.deviantart.com/ Based this more off of the 3e/Pathfinder stats that I found online.  I bumped up the hit dice to parallel the boost that demons and devils got compared to earlier editions as well. Lillend Large celestial (eladrin), chaotic good Armor Class 17 (natural armor) Hit Points 105 (10d10+50) Speed 30 feet, fly 60 feet STR DEX CON INT WIS CHA 20(+5) 17 (+3) 21 (+5) 14 (+2) 16 (+3) 19 (+4) Saving Throws Dex +7, Con +9, Wis +7, Cha +8 Damage Resistances cold, fire; bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing from nonmagical weapons that aren't cold iron Damage Immunities electricity, poison Condition Immunities charmed Skills Persuasion +8, Perform +8 Senses Darkvision 60 feet, passive Perception 13 Languages Celestial, Sylvan Challenge 6 (2,300 XP) Inspiration.  The lillend can in...
